Ok my question is ...do these tuners come preloaded with tunes if I could not yet provide the number for my PCM? I am currently deployed to Afghanistan and having an issue getting that code right now. Does this mean my SCT will be shipped blank?

Mine had an 89 ready to go, definitely waste no time getting a custom tune though. Theres a noticable difference between the 89 it came with and my brenspeed 93 octane.

If you got SCT PN#3015, yes, you will some preloaded generic "can" tunes. Ideally, you would want a more custom tune if you have a good amount of mods done, i.e. more than intake and exhaust or internal engine work. Just bolt ons and you should be fine.

If you are unable to provide the PCM number then you just have to wait for custom tunes. Otherwise depending on the model you may be able to use the preloaded tunes. The tuner will tell you when you plug it in by not allowing the tune to upload to download.

I would never, ever, ever recommend using the tunes that come pre-loaded on the SCT devices. They are listed under "Strategy Tunes". I would HIGHLY recommend getting some custom tunes from American Motorsport.

I had some serious issues going on with my car and my tuner and Alberto fixed everything over the phone and worked with me step by step. He sent me a street tune that I can run 87 on if I want to balance power and fuel economy and I got a performance/race tune I can run on 93 that maximizes power and accel.

He can fix virtually any problem and goes out of his way to help you. He fixed my problem on Easter. Seriously? Most places are closed from Good Friday until Monday. If you are even considering custom tunes head to americanmotorsport.com !!
