Updating Bamatunes SCT programmer from SCT's site? is it ok?
I noticed SCT has a "Critical Update" for SF3's and X3's that they recommend installing immediately.
My SCT was purchased from AM with tunes by Bama on it.
My question is, If I update my programmer, is it gonna delete my tunes and put SCT's box tunes on it??? anyone know?
Thanks

Only if you have a 2011 or 2012 Mustang GT. The update addresses some sort of lockup during the tune install section.

Lol, I just noticed they updated this firmware first on:
Release Date: 07-24-2012 Firmware Version: 1.2.142-3000
and the same link now shows:
Release Date: 10-22-2012 Firmware Version: 1.2.147-3000
Same 'description though'
I'm not messing with my device unless someone at SCT or AM can give me a good reason for a 2008 GT to apply this. There have been a boat load of issues of when people have tried to update their firmware.
I'm guessing this release on the 22nd was for just that reason.

mine crashed during the firmware upgrade and I wasted a good few hours on troubleshooting .. lol
yes, I believe it will wipe your tunes. I don't know which it will have on it, if any, but back up your tune files first. alternatively, BAMA is pretty quick at re-sending tunes if you need them, just call them.

That firmware update is a few months old now. When was your SCT device purchased? We we're manually updating the latest firmwares on all of our Bama tuners when SCT released this update.
I would recommend going on SCTs website and checking the latest update available and comparing that with what software is on your device. If you do need an update, back up the tunes to your computer/email then download the update! If it does wipe your tunes (which it shouldn't), Just give the Bama team a call and they'll get you new tunes sent out immediately.
I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any questions! Our Bama Performance tuning specialists are here in the building Monday-Friday from 9AM-5:30PM EST and Saturday 9AM-5:30PM EST. You can hit them up directly at 888.226.9764 and they'll get you squared away!
