Default CAI + Bama Tune will It pass Inspection

I have a 08 GT with a Bama Tune and Cold air intake. No other mods. I have my first state inspection(NJ) soon, will it pass? or should I throw the stock tune and air box back on? Car has only 22 thousand miles on it. I live in NJ and at inspection they just plug into the OBC.

If NJ is anything like Cali - No. It will not pass. Do they just do the sniff test or do they do visual inspection also? Sniff only it might pass, visual it will not.

They only test for emissions, using a computer that plugs into OBC, if your car has no OBC they use sniffer in your tail pipe. They don't care if your windshield is cracked, horn broken they don't even check to see if your headlights work. Only emissions.
BTW I am running Bama's 93 octane Performance Tune.

Your 08' GT should pass inspection with no problem at all. Make sure you run the Street or Performance Tune, have all of your Emissions equipment on and you'll be in good shape!

Let us know if you run into any issues or need some assistance! Our Bama Performance tuning specialists are here in the building Monday-Friday from 9AM-5:30PM EST and Saturday 9AM-5:30PM EST. You can hit them up directly at 888.226.9764 and they'll get you squared away!

Check, before you go, if you have a P1000 code. Of you do, you need to make sure you complete a drive-cycle or a change can be made to the tune for that to not be an issue.

bama has sent me 4 different emissions tunes... i was assured each time that the street tune they sent me would be fine... they even swapped out the diablo tuner i had for an act tuner down loaded the emmisioins tune on to the tuner themselves to be sure it was correct and i still couldn't pass. this experience has been a night mare... they told me when i called last that they couldn't help me... didn't recommend anyone to go to, i was even willing to pay for someone to fix it. there solution was to put all the stock bolt ons back on the car and run the stock tune.... great idea only it will cost me at the minimum 1500 dollars to have that done, I'm not a mechanic. with each bolt on i put on the car i always led with, "am i going to have any issues passing inspection" and each time i was reassured that i would have zero problem.... i have small time mods... magna flow cat back exhaust.... CAT BACK so i WOULD PASS... unreal... not to mention the wast of time putting 250 miles at the minimum before I went back for another inpection to make sure i drove enough.....

the worst part of the experience has been bamas customer service... all i ever read is how great it is.... i must be the one person that they have turned there back on, sorry pal can't help you.... if they were working with me, put me in contact with a mechanic here that they could talk through a solution with but pony up..... bama sold me the parts that made the mess but i guess free tunes for life means your not getting any help with any collateral damage. I would never get a canned tune again.... you have to have someone in your state that has a shop that you can show up and inform him that this is his mess and he needs to be a man and fix it.... do the right thing.... instead i was told they have never heard this before.... i can't believe i waited two months to lookup the issue n a forum, but it seems like its a common problem and they lied right through there teeth, we have NEVER SEEN THIS WHEN THE CORRECT TUNE (93 S) is downloaded.... well boys.... HERE I AM BOYS AND I STILL CANT PASS.... I made an appoint meant with a guy here in LI to tune the ca, gonna cost me another 500 and i have to wait till 6/10 to get it done.... so March April May and ten days in kJune my car hase been without an inspection sticker.... stand up job Bama.... as I'm typing this i can't believe it has been that long.... I think I have driven over 3000 miles of drive cycle time to try and pass.... three months and ten days and i had to get someone else to solve the problem. WOW...

Pioneeer 740,

I'm very sorry to see this post and it's certainly unacceptable by anyone's standards. I understand whole-heartedly your frustration. We'll never turn our back on a customer, and the fact that you weren't treated right isn't going to fly with us. We'll certainly listen to every call between yourself and Bama and take a look at any email that was sent to you. If necessary (which it definitely sounds like it is), we'll take corrective action as necessary.

Clearly the main priority here is getting your car inspected and road legal again. I'm sorry this has been such a difficulty. Clearly something is not right here, and we'd love one last chance to make it right. Bama hasn't historically had problem getting cars to pass any state run inspection/emissions and this is surprising to say the least. If you send me a PM with your name, information, and any order numbers you may have I would be happy to take this to the top at Bama. I can assure you we can get to the bottom of this and get your car to pass inspection. Once again I'm sincerely sorry for inconvenience and hassle this has been. Once I receive you PM, I'll make sure this is resolved in a timely manner.

I hope this helps and will await your PM.

-Dan

What exactly are you failing on? The On Board diagnostic test? Are you failing due to "Non-Supported" emission moniters?
