Default More Low-End Torque 4.0L

AM I'm wondering if I can get any more low end torque out of my 93 octane race tune? I definitely feel the power around 3000RPM, but really looking for some more off the line torque to increase my 0-60 times. With my current bolt ons and 93 race tune, I'm running around 5.9s with my 4.0L. Anything I can do, save for going FI to help there?

My Diablo Sport tune is sensitive to octane. Around here, Conoco and Shell seem to work well. Octane Improver works also, though the cheap house brands aren't as good.

I don't have timed data because my use is Rallycross racing ,where most driving is at high RPMs. Driver skill and avoiding excessive wheel spin make the biggest difference my lap times. Going from low octane to high is typically good for 2 seconds out of a 70 second lap.

I hope this is useful.

Yea, I use Shell 93 octane exclusively. I find that Exxon/Chevron gas cause a downgrade in performance. Almost as if their gasoline isn't igniting as efficiently or something.

With o adders short of swapping cams the power band is what it is. Switch to 4.10's will get you there quicker and would be a good time to step up to an 8.8 if you are going to continue wringing max power out of it. If you've got an auto trans then a looser torque converter will help. You might try putting the stock TB in as the larger BBK may be costing you on low end power. Unless those 19x8.5 are light weight design they are hurting you as well. An aluminum drive shaft should help some. Bottom line get a nitrous kit:-)

Excellent analysis! +1 on the nitrous kit!

A supercharger will also boost the bottom end (top end, too). When my son owned my '05 he dropped one in and boosted pressure between 9 and 16lbs. The results were nothing short of spectacular! Unlike Nitrous we could run boosted as long as we liked.

Given the cost of a s/c I recommend the nitrous kit for your purposes.

I hope this is useful.
