Tuner Question from complete amateur
I have an 03 gt with Roush supercharger 40 lb fuel injectors kenny bell fuel pump system. The cats have been eliminated and dummy o2 sensors installed. I had loud mouths on it but decided it sounded to tinny so i went with 40 series flow masters and got a real deep loud tone out of the exhaust. not sure what other mods the vehicle has as far as performance goes!
My problem is the computer is chipped and all emissions codes read "not ready" when i go to inspection.
So my question is should i remove the chip and use a tuner to get thru inspection in NJ?
When we used to use the sniff test here it always passed but now they only plug into the OBD port and look for emission malfunctions.
And if you believe this will solve my problem can you recommend a good tuner for me.

On that year it's hit and miss on the fake o2s. Sometimes they will pass sometimes they won't. Do you have an original tuner? If not a new one may not work as it looks for the stock tune file. I'd call up sct or tuner of your choice and tell them what you have and see what they recommend. If you have visual with the obd2 like we do it will fail anyway without cats.

cool next step would be to call someone up. I personally use SCT products but any of the major brands should be able to handle that. It's hard to say though we have the same test here and I pulled the cats when I added my cams but they just couldn't get the air fuel right to turn the light off so I put them back on. This is one of those things they really need to put it on the dyno and tweak it to get it just right to keep the PCM happy.
