Fuel Pump primes, crank no start horror story
Most things I read about cranks no starts usually have a fuel pump that doesn't prime at all. Making it much easier to diagnose a bad pump. I recently had a crank no start but you can clearly hear the pump prime. I literally tried everything to rule out the pump and nothing besides no rail pressure led me to believe it was. The real kicker is its a brand new Delphi pump with 3k on it. After having to accept that its likely the pump I threw in a new Bosch assembly and my 02 fires right up. Hopefully someone can learn from this and wont have the same headache I had seaching through countless threads.
One good way to check your fuel pump if it primes and you get a crank no start........Try to siphon gas out of the line. I tried to lighten my tank before the job and I couldn't even pull gas from it. Also when I took off the line before the fuel filter there wasn't drop of fuel in it.
