More like 5-10 rwhp on a sixer. That's a handheld tuner. It plugs into your ecu and allows you to modify paremters on your ecu to increase performance, such as raising the spark advance, increasing your shift firmness, raising your shift points, removing the rev and speed limitator, as well as much more. Now the diablo predator tuner from diablosports.com, offers 3 stock tunes for the 3 different gas types availible, and I have recently learned, on the 4.0L V6 forum in the new stang area, that a side by side dyno test of both the x cal 2 and the diblo, the diablo neted more hp than the x cal, like I think it was around 6 or so more hp, and that's with the stock tunes.

When you use a tuner, it changes the settings on the computer perminantly until you plug the tuner back in and change them again right?

Yes, kinda like installing a game on the the computer, except the paremeters of a game can't be changed, the ecu tunes can be. Also, don't worry, these tuners save your stock settings, so if you screw up a tune and need to go back to stock to start over againg, or you decide to sell the car and want to keep the tuner, then there you go because the stock tune is saved.
