i have a 1988 thunderbird turbo coupe im making about 8 pounds of boost now the guage goes to 18 i want to make about 12. how do i turn the boost up also is there anything else you recomend doing after turning it up ?

Does it have a waste gate? My bud just drilled a small hole in the waste gate, and the boost went up 4 psi....

i bet you could probably run 16-17psi safely in premium mode (on 93)

i run 19 in mine with an upgraded fuel pump and intercooler

just be EXTRA careful, only turn it a half turn at a time NO MATTER what, from experience

i thought i turned mine back to where it was (after turning it down) i spiked 25psi ONCE and it blew my headgasket wide open

Actually, do me a favor here. When the car is cold (so you dont burn your hands), reach under the turbo, youll feel a rod, about the diameter of a pen or pencil. Grab it, and try to move it horizonatally. What youre doing, is grabbing your wastegate arm, and seeing if you can open and close it by hand. If you can open it with one hand, you need a new wastegate, and a boost controller wont increase your boost with a faulty wastegate.

Reason i ask about a 5-speed or auto, is that from the factory, the boost is controlled by the computer and a selenoid, and the 5-speed cars got more boost than the automatics. Automatics usually got 10psi, while the 5-speed cars got 15psi.
