Driveshaft rubbing

Driveshaft rubbing
I have a 94 v6 mustang. Lately, when i've been accelerating hard, there's a crazy rubbing sound from the bottom rear of the car. I climbed under there and the driveshaft is rubbing onto the brakeline that runs along the bottom of the car. The line is flush with the body of the car, so the driveshaft must be getting abnormally close to the body. I put these little rubber spacers in my rear coilsprings and it didn't seem to help much. any suggestions? new shocks? springs? is something really wrong?

RE: Driveshaft rubbing
to be sure, check everything u possibly can. check ujoints, maybe see of the shaft is bent, its hard to believe a 94 has bad suspension already, i mean my 88 has BAD suspension and the shaft doesn't rub. my thought would be if it was suspension that your tires would rub first, but to check if it is suspension, get the rear end of the car in the air, put sumtin underneath the rear tires, get underneath and have a buddy bounce the rear end as hard as he, but be safe bout it when u do.i never heard of stuff like that. well wait now that i think about it, i believe this is how the rear end driveshaft relationship works, when u get on the gas, the rearend tries to almost spin with the tires, so the rear of the shaft would move up as the oppisite when u get after the brakes hard, the shaft comes downwards. check all of your rear suspension. sorry for the lengthy not, i'm on serious meds and my thoughts travel.

RE: Driveshaft rubbing
i put on two sets of spring boosters on each back spring... seems to help. i think that there's still a problem though... somebody said it might be the motor or trans mounts or something. I don't think the rear needs to be this high off the ground for the there to be enough clearance for the diff. what about cars that are lowered? something else must be the problem. but i guess jacking up the rear is a temp fix. for now anyways. gimme some input please!

RE: Driveshaft rubbing
since i can't see what u see when u get underneath, i'm gonna assume that the shaft is rubbin off to the side and not straight up underneath since u said brake line. now if the shaft is rubbing closer to the engine/tranny, then possibly is something in that area, but i would assume if its more to the rear of where its rubbing, then its something in the rearend. unless of course the shaft is bent.possibly the rearend of your car is no longer squared as it should be. thats your input from me, runnin near the front, tranny/motor mount, rubbin near the rear, somethin in the rear aint right.
