Default A waste of money?

I'm wanting to dual out my 04 3.8 V6 Stang. The problem... I don't understand what the difference between "true dual" and false dual. Would I be wasting my money without "true dual" or is this term a market trick of some sort. In addition I'm looking at a magniflow dual exaust kit, how do I know which it is?

Second question: So I looked up cold air intake on the forums and found that most people claim they are a waste of money performance wise. People say they only add about 2-3 horsepower but I have found CAI's claiming around 10 HP at the wheels. At the wheels?

Thanks

Easy Drive

Yea, that's 10 hp on a new GT, it's all about engine size, air restiction, and displacement, the 3.8L has pretty good airflow stock, so while the cai is a good investment for your mpg, engine life, and throttle responce, it's not really a good investment if you're looking for raw hp. True duals means that you have two seprate pipes all the way back, that's your headers, h or x pipe (depends on which one you want I recommend x pipes, but h pipes don't sound bad on Mags, just get the off road h pipes, means they have no cats, they'll sound way better, oh I had mags on my 98 sixer with an off road x pipe, and believe it or not, the damn thing sounded better sound quality wise than my V8 with flowmasters sounds), and a set of GT Magnaflow catbacks. A false, or y pipe dual exhaust system is your headers, your stock y pipe, and another set of pipes that bolts up to the end of the y and splits it back into two pipes. Only this is that y pipe V6 systems sound ricy, especially the Magnaflow systems. Do it right and go true dual or nothing. Oh that's a V6 x or h pipe, a GT won't work. http:/www.mustangtuning.com/ sells one, and so does pypes.

the pipes come off your engine and meet into ONE pipe to exit the car

FAKE DUAL ARE come out the engine as 2 pipes....combine to make one and at the last second that one pipe splits into two...just to give the look of TRUE DUALS..but its FAKE

As for the CAi they give a good deal of power..and react better to the more mods you have. Basic parts to get for power are Pullies, MAC CAI and Dual Exhaust
