Default What would you do?

I have a 3.8L mustang and I want to get as much power and speed out of the engine as possible. I have already put a Delta chip in the car and installed a cold air intake. I would like to turn this Mustang into a 10 sec car. So what should I do?

10 sec = not likely ever. 11 sec = not likely ever. 12 sec = not likely but possible. 13 sec = not likely but possibe with ALOT of mods 14 sec = a good goal to shoot for. Would take at the very least gears, offroad mid-pipe, good exhaust, pullies, the chip helps and so does the cai. upper and lower rear control arms would help too. In the end, it would cost 3x as much to build a 10 sec 3.8 than it would to just start with a v8 (and even thats way expensive).

I totally agree with "mdvaldosta" - but if you really want to make it that fast why don't you Supercharthe the mother and then through 2 tanks of NOS, LOL - I hope you don't kill your self.

Lol, yea supercharging, gears, and exhaust would be a sure-fire way to get into the low 14's - MAYBE high 13's with sticky tires. All for the mere price of 4k worth of mods + installation. Hey their's nothing wrong with wanting your 3.8 to tear down the track, but consider the fact that your driving an economy type car - not a car designed for performance.

I wouldn't say it's absolutely impossible but the amount of work and money you will have to put into it will definately not be worth it. Not to mention the car would be no where near a daily drivable car. Sometime back 5.0 Mustang magazine tried to get a V6 mustang up the the HP of a V8. The amount of work they had to do was extensive and that's just to get it to stock V8 power.

Thats what makes it unique and a fun challange. Here are some dyno # from one of the guys on my V6 Mustang site. He's just one of many. Keep in mind, this is a street legal car.

Hey Guys here are the new dyno Numbers

434 RWHP
424.3 ft lbs.Torque
this was done @ 5800 RPM's
a/f ratio was 11.4 @ 5800 Rpm Nice and safe.

I'm freaking excited

You do realize that 11.4 is not a time but rather a air to fuel ratio.

If that comment is for me, yes I do, LOL. I built a 99 V6 sprint/club racer and I'm in the prosses of building an 03 V6 street legal Stang. For the V6 enthusiests like me, here's a great event coming up in May.

There is no way someone has that much HP without some serious mods. You can't even get those numbers from a 5.0 without a bunch of mods. Do you have any idea what was done to the car?
