Rear Wing Install. Where to drill? Template?

Rear Wing Install. Where to drill? Template?
Hey,
My girlfriend has wanted a rear spoiler on her '98 mustang since she bought it a few years back. For a surprise X-Mas gift, I got a stock '98 mustang GT rear wing off eBay, and want to install it while she's at work (SURPRISE!!!!). Problem is, I have no clue where to drill to install it on her trunk lid. Does anyone know where I could get a template of some kind to tell me where to drill? My local shop wants $200 for the install (which does not include paint). Thats a bit much for my budget, especially since the install is drilling 4 holes and bolting the thing down. Any help would be great. Thanks...

I have to agree, as thats what was thinking.
put it where you want it, look to see that your not going to end up drilling into the webbing, make sure 5 or 6 times that it is straight, mark it off and drill away.
what you may want to do is make a paper template your self. get some big paper, like what is use for doing prep work and place the wing on it. then mark it up so that you have an accurate sized template and cut it out. That way you can just tape it down, center it and drill right through the paper.

Make sure when you install it you use a gasket or some kind of sealing compound. When I bought mine it was leaking into the trunk. If you have a friend with a wing ask him to take it off and use a plastic overlay to copy his hole positioning. Goodluck!!

Look inside the trunk, there should already be some holes on the inner frame of the decklid, that would be where the nuts would go. There should be a matching pair both sides.

When you do install the wing be sure to use some sort of a multi purpose (steel, plastic, fibreglass) epoxy and maybe some medium strength thread locker. I had one bolt come loose and that is a head ache you dont want. But yeah i used a large piece of paper to plot out where the holes should be drilled. And don't forget to check if they have to go in at an angle.
