my speedo on the stang tripped out on me bout 5 hours ago. my friend and I were screwing around with our cars, his 02 cavy and my stang lol.

Well I was gaining on him after he flew past me, not sure at what speed, but I do know that when I hit 80 my speedo started to bounce the needle up and down and then just went down all the way. The car started to stall out like it was having the fuel cut off.

I know the car will start to cut the fuel off over 110, my friend said he hit onetime, tell i stopped gaining on him when I let off.

Was wondering if I need a new cable for that speedo? I have also noticed the rpm gauge do the same thing at times.

I don't know about the car cutting out on you but it does sound like the speedo cable broke on you.

im gonna purchase one of them here in the next day or two, cause i dont want it going out completely on me. it went back to working properly just was wierd. Thanks for the help though.

This is gonna be fixed real soon, mine has a speed sensor near the tail of the tranny, its only 21.48 through Oreilly's Auto Parts. So it'll be here tomorrow and I'll have it on this weekend. Thanks for the info though.
