It wont hurt you car. Just try it out and if you don't like it remove the gasket you made and replace with your original one.

Ok i know this thread is old but i just got around to tryin this today. I made the sizesx the right size and it dosnt make the popping sound when i sit still and barely rev it like all the vids. I know the car idles at like 600 rpm now and like if i just go to take off and i just tap the gas it almost dies lol not hold it down but just tap while in park. Is the holes the same on the 97 as the New edges. The exhaust sounds deeper just no popping like i wanted.

96mustangV6, I used the 1/4 inch hole and it's perfect for me. The 3/16 nearly made my car die as well. If I were you, I'd bore that hole just a bit bigger (trial and error) and eventually you'll get something you'll love. As for the popping, I get a little, but nothing major.

Oh, and just a question for everybody. If I get a cold-air intake will I need to change the size of the hole again? The CAI won't change the amount of airflow that much will it?
