Ebay lowering springs...

I'm sure this has been asked before on this forum and I tried to search but the search engine was down and wouldn't return any results. My question is will these Ebay lowering springs work on my mustang and will they be reliable? And is this all I need to buy to lower my car? My final question is will this work with my 18 inch Cobra 03s or will there not be room in the fenderwell?

RE: Ebay lowering springs...

Not much detail on the listing ... they look similar to the DropZone springs bought on eBay (mine dropped over 2" in front, though). Anyway, it doesn't say if they are specific or progressive rate springs (which changes the ride/handling characteristics). You don't have to spend a lot to lower a Mustang, but I would recommend new shocks/struts as well as spring isolators and c/c plates (as long as you're going in there, do it all right the first time). My total investment in parts was around $400-450 for those (as well as a rear swaybar, which my car didn't come with) and the result is a far better stance & greatly improved handling. You easily can pay 3-5 times what these springs (and shipping) are priced (if you want Steeda, Saleen, Eibach, etc.) for the same stance/look.

It's all up to taste ... if you want a name brand, buy it. If you're willing to take a chance on 'no name' equipment, roll the dice. My only regret was not installing the c/c plates and spring isolators my first time in ... no sense in repeating labor when you can avoid it.

please dont buy those.......they will work but u will prob have 1.7" of drop on the right front and 1.5" or drop on the left front. u get what u pay for. it would be better to cut ur stock springs than to spend 40bux on junk

Where is the cheapest place to buy the entire set springs, struts, shocks, spring isolators and c/c plates. I want to do it right but I want to save some money along the way

I disagree.... in my expirence cutting your springs can potentially be unsafe.... since your springs are cut, they no longer have the correct shape to seat correctly and can bounce around if the suspension travels far enough.... not to mention, it rides like crap, and messis with your spring rate... hit a dip and the road, and you feel it all the way down the street ....boing boing boing

Were not talking about cutting springs on a Honda here. There are plenty of guys here on MF who have cut there spring successfully. You have to know what you are doing, or read Ryan's article, very informative!!

nice link and yea if you follow ryan's how to and do it correctly cutting springs is better than buying slinky's off of ebay to use on your suspension
