Default Sputters at around 4000 rpm.

I've got a 2004 v6 3.9 and it sputters at around the 4000 rpm mark. I've changed the fuel filter and now plugs and wires, and it's still doing it. It also has a slight sputter in the lower end of the rpm range. Any thoughts, or suggestion? Thanks in advance.

I don't know what the problem is but I know mine does the same thing. I have replaced stock air filter w/ a K&N. I've also done plugs and wires, fuel filter, and changed oil.

Come on! Somebody out there must have SOME idea of what causes this! Sounds like a common problem though...

does it sputter from 4000 rpm on or just around 4000 rpm? if it sputters from 4000 to the shift point then it is because the engine isnt getting enough fuel. if you were going to put in a SC or Turbo then i would suggest a bigger fuel pump but since your stock then dont worry about it. i dont think there is anything you can do about it
