Exclamation Rear End and Front End Questions...

Well I have had my stang for a year now and the guy I bought it from wrecked it. Well the alignment was completly shot on the front end so i went and got it done. They said that everything looked good and nothing major needed to be replaced. Ok great well now a year later and a tie-rod change later the front end is really loose and the alignment is just a little off no biggy. Maybe a new rack.

Now for the rear end, they never said anything about it be bad or off or anything. Now I took it to a dealership and they measured the rear and and.... It is 1 degree off, now that does not sound like much but when I recently did my breaks I noticed when I was putting the left rear rotor on it was not straight...Ok no biggie just a bent axle shaft. Well looking a little better the right rear chamber is really bad and causing the tires to wear really bad on the insides to the middle.

Well my questions are basically what options do I have here... I am almost certain that I need to replace the whole rear end but where should I start looking for rear ends? What year mustang rear ends will work? What should I look for when I find it? How much do the usually run and how hard to swap?

Any help you guys offer would be great!!! If you want some pics I will post them...

you can find a rear end at a junk yard. you could go for an 8.8

they are pretty easy to install if you have a buddy. just unbolt the shocks and control arms and driveshaft

Did they also check if the frame was bent?

No one would put it on the machine to check for that. I tried but the 3 places I went refused to do it since the axle is f-ed up. Now I kinda figured a junk yard but what year mustangs and models can I pull from?

I will post some pics tomorrow and show you the damage and you tell me what you guys think from there

The 8.8" rear end is a pretty easy swap. Jack up the pumpkin, unbolt driveshaft, LCA's, UCA's, shocks, and brakes, then swap them on to the new. When looking for rear end's stick to your generation(99-04) if you want a direct swap in, the 94-98's are too skiny and will need wheel spacers for it to not look wierd.

Umm if you look at my sig I have a 97 :P Would a GT rear end bolt right up or what? Oh and usually what does it cost to pull one from a junkyard? Also any ideas on the front end? I know someone that is selling a nice foxbody stang with a new crate motor from Ford Racing and has it supercharged with a new tranny and rear with drag radials pushing a little over 600hp for 10g you think that would be a smarter choice
