Exclamation Flowmaster vs Mac Exhaust on 1998 mustang

I want to put a Cat back system on my car but I wasn't sure which of these two would be a better system.

I want it to sound good and not tacky or too loud

This first one is a bolt on System from Mac Performance:

http://www.macperformance.com/store/...Product_ID=315

And this is a bolt on System from Flowmaster:

http://www.flowmastermufflers.com/pr...oducts_id=3891

If anyone knows anything about these two, or knows of a better catback for a 1998 3.8L v6 mustang please let me know.

Sound is all a personal preference...

I have heard that MAC provides better gains, but I would recommend Longtubes for the best sound/performance..

And It would more than likely be much cheaper to get a shop to fab you some duels rather than buy a kit.

Just buy some flowmasters or macs, take em to a shop and have them make you up a true dual exhaust. Why go fake when you can get the real thing cheaper?

So your saying to just by the mufflers from Flowmaster or MAC and have an exhaust shop make a true duel system for the car with the mufflers? And would that really be cheaper?

I got my flowmasters used for $80. The shop charged me $190 to cut off my stock Y, hang my mufflers, and run the pipes to the bumper. Check car forums for used flowmasters or Macs, you could get some good deals. I actually got mine off a charger forum as they and the mustangs use the same offset inlet/outlet setup. Call around to shops and see how much they'd do it for you.

Yup, I think its USUALLY around $200-300 to do everything like that, but depends on mufflers..

Sounds like that would be a logical choice, now do you think putting a H-pipe in would be worth it/ make it sound better?

I forgot to add that in my second post. They did all that plus an H pipe for $190. It doesn't hurt anything, I've always had an H pipe so I don't know if there's a real distainct difference in sound. I have heard that the H sounds deeper, and the X sounds a little more raspy though.
