06 v6, best plug for power
#11
thats cool. i did find some interesting info though. the E3 plugs gave an average of around 5hp on the dyno and consumed less fuel. i was chating with another dude who has had them in his car for about a year now and he is getting 32mpg @75 on the highway. he said that it was a noticable difference on his car. which it will be a cheap enough try.
has anyone else used the E3 plugs??

Don't believe claims like that. It's all dependent upon the car you drive. Sure, maybe a z06 could gain 5 hp on the dyno with different plugs, but that's because it makes huge power. On our cars, just keep the stock plugs unless you go F/I and want to run a colder plug. That's the only reason I'd put fancy plugs in. BTW... I have Denso Iridiums with MSD wires and noticed no gains whatsoever... the quality is excellent, that's about it... but so is stock.

1.) Dont believe everything you read.
2.) I call BS about your friends car, even if he cant drive, if $8 went under the hood then BS. $8k doesnt get lost under the hood that easily on things that dont add power.
Also I doubt his tune was messed up and getting it dyno'ed wont add power unless they redo the tune and even then it really depends on mods to much of a difference. Why would you have someone mess with a tune without having the car unless it was a service like VMP does just so you can get your car to a dyno tuner?
3.) Get LT headers, catted midpip and nice mufflers. (Check with local laws for the LT's)
4.) Wait for the rest of the cash for the X-charger and spare a little to other things for the car like BETTER braking and suspension (Can improve on the FR3)
5.) When you get the X-Charger look into porting those heads and getting a set of cams. You also should look into a shop replacing your pistons for you. The weak link in the 4.0L are the pistons as the crank is good enough for moderate power and the rods are steel.

ok here's the deal on his car. cnl cai, diablo tuner, headers, dual exhaust, 3.73 rear gears with a t-loc, fr3 suspention, 3rd link, underdrive pulleys, one piece light weight drive shaft. plus some more suspension stuff.
most is his money went to suspention. plus he only put in the tune for the cai, not the all of the mods. and the biggest two that killed the car was the fact that he had already killed the clutch and when he had the rear end done, he never had the back lash set. so the rear end was really bad crunchy. i know for a fact that if he would have had everything set up correctly, he would have smoked my car. but since he didnt..well......the outcome pissed him off. hahhahahaha. he traded the car in on a dodge magnum. but that is a good thing too. i was the salesperson that traded for the car and sold him the magnum. that is where my suspention came from. i would have got the cai andthe diablo too but he didnt unlock the tuner so it wouldnt allow me to tune my car. i tried. lol
