Questions about turning my V-6 into a GT...

I agree. The v8 is fun, but the power and sound out of it was expected. To see a v6 keep up with or out run the v8 is a lot more impressive. Plus, theres always the "You beat a v6 good for you", or the better "You just got beat by a v6" answers at the track after a race.

If you really want to do a swap, it isnt as difficult as these guys think it is. I've been researching a DOHC mod motor swap into my ESP v6 mustang, and it isnt too expensive. You can get all of the parts used, you can keep the 7.5" rear end(LSD would be reccomended), and if you have have a 4r70w trans, you just need to change torque converter size and get the proper bellhousing.
Brake booster/mastercylinder is different on the V8 cars
Fuel system
ECU/PCM
throttle cable/cruise control cable
MAF sensor
engine mounts, the factory K member is the same as well as control arms etc.
If you want to do the H/C/I on the V6, go for it. If you want to do a V8 swap, go for it. They both cost about the same, and if you go through SSM for the V6 parts, a v8 swap is going to be more cost-effective.

^great site for used parts, you can find a 2v V8 with manual or auto trans, around 40,000miles for $1,400.00 shipped on average....willing to bet they'd throw in the engine mounts for free.....
