I understand completely!

I bought this car for $800. Excellent interior, full options package (for a V6), good ragtop, Cobra body kit, frame straight, cosmetically nice, and suspension is stout. I figure with a weekend of parts collection, a weekend of wrenching, and a $500 motor, I get a running and somewhat unique convertible New Edge Mustang for under $1500.

If I ever get bored and start messing around with the 4.2 and rear end, i might even get the V6 to beat some stock GT's off the line!

I like saving money as much as the next guy, and I like power. I guess I really like value above all, so at the $1500 price point I was able to justify this V6 instead of a 99-01 GT in similar condition for ~$6000.

I really appreciate your responses and your insight. Thanks, and I'll be sure to document the swap.

Haha, that's where it starts. Then the next thing you know, you're looking at custom cast blocks because the stock block only handles 980 hp.

Well, I went vanilla. Someone wrecked a 70K V6 and gave me the motor for $200. It was a no-brainer, just for the simplicity at the almost-free price. Swap starts today.

Are there any parts on my dead V6 I should offer up in classifieds, or are they all easy to get? Just don't want to junkyard anything that someone might be looking for.

Thanks LilRoush for your input. I am eyeballing a used ProCharger @ 11psi for $2000... hmmm.

lol

Someone might be interested in the upper and lower intake and heads, not for much but someone might buy them.

Yea if they were at a reasonable price I'd inquire to kick start my 4.2 build.

I wasn't looking for custom cast blocks, I wanted to do some custom BILLET ALUMINUM blocks! Damn $10,000 per unit was more than it's worth though lol

Part that sucker out. There are a LOT of parts I'm sure people would be willing to buy.

How much weight would an aluminum black save Ryan? Also would probably help the weight distribution.
