Default gauge cluster swap

What would I have to do to make a Mach 1 gauge cluster work in my car properly. I found one for $150. If I pulled my entire cluster, put that one in and plugged it in what problems would I run into, and what would I need to do to fix it? thanks guys. I don't know of anyone who still makes a decent looking complete cluster for our cars thats plug n play. I remember someone saying something about problems with the PATS system.

take it to a ford dealer, have it recalibrated. then your mileage with show up, and your speedo wont be off(ts a 160 compared to your 120).

Speedo won't be off? How much you think ford will charge to have it calibrated? And will I run into any problems with the pats system? I've heard it messes with the security if you swap clusters or something along those lines, I forget exactly what it was.

I have access to a ford code reader, big ugly T-shaped one that the dealers have that can access the dash computer and any other computer in the car, (chassis, ABS ect). Does any one know what needs to be done using that to recalibrate PATS and speedo? its not very user friendly...

I emailed Tasca, my local ford dealership to see if they could do it for $150. I'll post their answer when i get it.

Man I would love to put a Mach cluster in my 01' as I want to swap the seats and bezels out for the Mach 1 versions.

Let us know how it comes out.

Pretty disappointed in my response. Many of you may have heard of the late Bob Tasca. He worked directly with Carol Shelby way back in the days and was a pioneer in developing many of the mustangs of the 60's. I called his dealership, Tasca Ford, who is one of the few places I believe that does the supersnake conversion. They do inhouse porting and dynotuning So I figured they would know their still. He told me

-I can't swap clusters because it will cause "all sorts of electrical problems and the car might not start because the cluster is tied into the Pats system." I directly asked him if they could fix the electrical problems I would run into because I was told you can and if they can do anything about the Pats system problem, that was his response

-He told me they can't port my upper intake because it is made out of plastic?! He told me he talked to his "head engineer" who told him they can't port my intake because it is made of plastic. A quick search could tell him its not, and I would hope someone working there who modifies strictly mustangs for a living might know.

-They also wouldn't give me a price on dynotuing for the future. They don't do it by hour they charge "a certain rate and then just go from there", but wouldn't give me specifics.
