Braking vehicle pulls left
When braking vehicle pulls left. I replaced right caliper. It got a little better but still pulls left. It's a 94 mustang with 170,000 miles on it. Vehicle also has a lot of play in the steering wheel but I don't think it's a connected problem. Any suggestions?

when was the last time your car was inspected? might be something like tie rods for the play in the steering wheel
|
+1 this case may be a steering/alignment problem
|
how do the rubber lines look? sometimes they collapse and can cause a vehicle to pull
|
you said the car pulls left but you replaced the right caliper? passenger side?

Maybe both calipers were bad, what about the rotors and pads? Any unusual wear on the tires? how are the struts? Look at all the bushings, rod ends, and balljoints, see if they are damaged. Also inspect the hub, it should have ZERO play in it.

Brake lines seem ok, no soft spots, calipers seem normal, tires are new, vehicle was inspected in Jan. When I had tires put on the allignment was slightly off but just barely out of spec. I knew I was going for new struts so I waited on alignment. I found one iffy bushings and one definitely bad. The iffy one was on the drivers side just ahead of the spring on the big bar that goes across the entire vehicle to the other wheel (control arm?), the other is right behind the brake caliper ( this one seems bad). I'll post pics as soon as I figure out how.

I would say you are way overdue for a set of ball joints, from the looks of the boot. Who ever aligned your car must have been sleeping to overlook that. |
