Will V8 motor bolt to V6 trans???
#12
I've seen post before on other Mustangs, how the oil pan wouldn't clear certain things on the car and I just wanted to make sure doing what I want to, that I wasn't going to run into any clearance issues.

A rear sump, mustang 302 oil pan will work in any 79-04 mustang pretty much. The differences with a 79-93 and a 94/95 are the timing cover and forward. So the timing cover, water pump, and accessory brackets need to be 94/95 specific.

2000 V6 is 3.8
Also, if you'd have looked it up, the fourth generation Mustang is 1994–2004.
From 1994 to 1995 was the AOD 4-Speed Auto Trans, V6 and GT.
From 1996 to 2004 was the 4R70W 4-Speed Auto Trans; I believe 2000 falls between 1996 to 2004, V6 and GT.
In 2003, they revised the 4R70W's ring gear with 24 lugs, making it stronger, making it change to
4R75W. Also a different torque converter and front pump. This is the trans you want...
4R70Es will not work, they're for the newer drive-by-wire systems.
Towing or not, A 20,000+ GVW cooler is highly recommended for all vehicles. It will extend the life
of the trans. This prevents frequent fluid changes due to heat breakdown of the transmission fluid which
often results in converter shudder. That feels like you're driving over rumble strips. The converter is trying
to maintain a steady slip rate during lock-up, but alternates between slipping and grabbing. I know
exactly what that feels like in a different car, now. My '15 TSI does this under load with TCC lockup.

Yes it will bolt in and work however the 99+ t5 has a fully electronic speedo setup using a reluctor ring instead of a drive gear. The gear can not just simply be installed either. the ring will have to be pressed on and a groove cut for the retaining clip for the gear. It can be done but not the easiest to do

oil pan when used in Mustangs, prior to the Fox body, which went until '93. All of those Mustang engines came with a 2-sump oil pan, necessary to clear the K-member crosspiece. SN-95 Mustangs, '94 and '95 used the same two-sump pan as the Foxes. In '96, they went to the 4.6L V-8 and I cannot tell you what it's pan looks like.
So long story short, a 289, 302 engine in a '94 Mustang will need to have the '94 style two-sump pan. Many differences exist also on the front of the engine:
'94 water pumps and timing covers are different, as are also the accessory mounting brackets. Also, '94 went to electric cooling fans. imp
