I've Been Reading And Reading And Reading...
Before I wander into the realm of the M112, I've been considering more and more an Auto -> Manual swap. I would really like to go with the T-56 6-speed, but the closest one to me is over 100 miles away and is almost $1500! I would settle with the T-5, and would love to have a 5-speed for under a grand. Basically this is a thread questioning exactly what I need for the swap and exactly what the repercussions would be. Some people said that the O/D light would constantly flash on and off, and the car would run funny whenever it reached automatic shift points. Also, I have a 2001, so I'm not really sure I have the external or internal counterweights. What I've gathered from reading.
I Need
-T-5 Transmission with bell housing
-Shifter forks
-Shifter and ****
-Manual Shift bezel and surround
-TO Bearing
-Clutch cable with firewall adapter
-Clutch pedal assemblay
-Clutch w/ PP and flywheel
-Manual Driveshaft?
-Either a tune from an Xcal or from Ford to recalibrate speedometer

You could always get the ECU from a manual car and swap it in so the car wont want to shift when it should.
Just a suggestion.
And I dont think you need the whole driveshaft, just the yoke that goes into the tranny.

That's what I was wondering. I would love to find a donor car for the project, but theres literally NOTHING in NH. And I could easily just pull the bulb form behind the O/D light. AND I found a 5-speed tranny for $315. This is my DD, how long do you think the car will be out of commission?

If you have access to a lift it makes it much easier. Biggest thing is to make sure you have everything you will need before you start. A coworker and I did the swap in a thunderbird in 6 hrs, so it can be done in one day.

I'm just south of you, in MA, and I feel you're pain. I've been looking for a 4.6 and all that for a swap for a while now, and am coming up short all the time. I guess people just don't like to wreck their cars nowadays haha.

That's what this thread is mostly for... making sure I know specifically EVERYTHING I need. And yes, my second part-time job is at a local shop and I have access to his second lift whenever I need it... Man do I love family friends with lifts

Right, I'm actually considering buying the m112 first with my tax return... the only reason for this is that during the winter the mustang is going to be parked, so Im thinkng about doing a "mini build" including the 5-speed swap when it starts to get cold out again
