Engine knocking or tapping noise
My 04 v6 stang has a bad knocking/tapping noise. I removed each spark plug wire one at a time and started it. None of them stopped the noise. It also has a Check Engine Light on. Im lost.

Do you have access to an OBD scanner? If there's a check engine light a good place to start would be to figure out what code it's spitting out to trigger the CEL. Unless of course the CEL is a result of having your spark plug wires unplugged, but I'm assuming that's not the case since you bothered to mention it.

May be a dumb response, but I don't know what you know about cars, so I'll say it. When I had my first car, I had an annoying ticking like that as well. It never went away and it got faster as the engine reved. I had about 1 out of 5 quarts of oil in my engine...
Check your oil. If the sound is exactly like that sound in the video and gets faster with acceleration, then oil is at least a good place to start

My two cents.... I had a ticking/knocking issue with my 2000 that I couldn't figure out. I had everything checked out changing the oil and everything with no results. Finally I took it to a friend and we figured out it was a cracked weld in the exhaust manifold. It was so small that when the engine was cold it would allow the exhaust to pass which made the ticking sound. As the engine warmed up the manifold expanded and it went away leading me to believe it was an oil/lifter issue. I had the manifold welded and reinstalled and it runs great now. This might not be your problem, but it's worth a mention just in case. Good Luck!
