number 6 injector is not getting signal?? help!!

Did you rule out a bad ignition coil? That sounds the most probable to me. There are three wires coming from the ignition control module. 1 wire will carry the signal to fire two cylinders at a time. Same for the other two wires. So if one wire was bad two cylinders should be affected. The wiring diagram doesn't show any grounds to the coil. I believe the spark plugs ground to the engine. The other wire going to the coil is for the radio interference. I could be wrong here but that is the way I understand it from the wiring diagram. I would be glad to send you the wiring diagram if you don't have it. PM me your email if you want it.

yes, my local mechanic check the coil, and plug wire. the plug would work if the cylinder got fuel. the problem is that fuel is not going in the cylinder because the injector is not getting the signal from the computer, because the injector wire plug has no juice.

I just checked all injector wire plug for positive signal from the battery, and all are getting juice on the positive side, so it's the ground side of number 6 injector wire plug that is not recieving the siagnal from the computer. somehow, somewhere. one last check of harnessing wires to rule out a bad wire, and it should boil down to the computer I believe.

Sorry about that I was thinking one of your spark plugs were not firing. Looks like the injectors all go to the pcm. I guess it supplies the fuel injector a ground signal? So you either have a bad pcm or bad wire. If you had a breakout box you could check it out better but those are big bucks.

well I just finished checking the rest of the wiring to the pcm, and I honestly couldn't get a good reading on the multimeter, but that goes for all of the injector ground wires. which is very fustrating, cause I was hoping to get a reading from a least five of the wires so that I could say that number 6 has a bad wire, but I can't say that. not sure way the mltimeter couldn't pick up signal I tried connecting it to various ports and plugs for the injectore ground wires and just didn't get anything. so I'm gonna have to guess that the pcm has gone bad. namely cause it doesn't even register that number 6 injector is not getting signal, fuel, or a misfire. Seems like the pcm thinks I have a V5 and not a V6. I bought a remanufactured pcm the other day, and it is on it's way. the least I can do is hook it up and see if anything changes. If not, then I have 21 days to return it for a refund. If it helps then that will be sweet, I'll post the results so that anyone who has this problem in the future can have an idea of what they might need to look at.

If its getting power, but not ground, then did you try grounding the injector yourself to see if it works? Take some wire and stick it into the back of the injector's connector where the ground wire goes in and connect the other end of the wire to a known good ground. Make sure the connection is good. Then see if the noid light starts flashing like it should.
btw, if you like playing with electronics like I do… you might want to pick up a Power Probe (1, 2 or 3). Very handy when tracking down no-power and bad ground issues. Paid for itself the first time I used it.

ok guys can I have a drum roll please.............. Number 6 injector wire is sending signal to the noid light!!!!! how did I do it? simple...... I changed the pcm. that's right I put in a remanufactured pcm and the light flashes, but I still have to wrap the wire harness that I have diesected trying to find the bad wire (which was never there), put a new spark plug in number 6 cylinder, check the injector itself to see if it is clogged or plugged, put on a new EGR gasket, and new upper intake gasket before I can road test my pony. Then we shall see if it is truely as good as new. I'll keep ya'll posted and up to date. thanks to everyone who help and to those who didn't help as much your advice is still appreciated. I really mean it, thanks guys.

well I am pleased to say that my pony has some giddy up in its go now!! I have road tested it and drove around some 20-30 miles and no problems have happened. the check engine light has stayed off, and I can tell a noticeable differance in horse power. I do still have to fix the problem with the exhaust, mainly so I don't get a ticket, but also to improve the performence some. Thanks to everyone who gave their input on this situation, all advise was appreciated. until next time kiddys, drive hard, drive fast, but most importantly DRIVE SAFE!!!!
