Door Lock doesn't work properly
I've had a problem with my '01 for about a year now where the lock on my car door will most of the time not go down or come up when I use the key remote or the lock/unlock button inside the car. It started happening on the driver's side door only because my friend sat in the car and held the lock down while I tried to unlock it using the remote.
When I try to unlock/lock it with the remote or the button inside, it goes up/down halfway and then goes back up/down to it's original position (so pushing the lock button leaves the driver's side of the car unlocked and vice versa), like it wants to unlock/lock but it doesn't. On rare occasions, it will make it all the way to the unlocked/locked position but, usually, it doesn't. I'm tired of having to remember to push the lock down before I get out of my car and close the door or having to use the key to get in the driver's side. What should I do to fix this? |

take the interior panel off and make sure its still attached correctly to the rest of the locking assembly? other than that I dunno

When I bought mine, I had to unscrew the thing that goes up/down when you unlock/lock it just a little bit. I know with mine it was screwed on too tight and the lock wouldn't go all the way down and catch so it could stay down.

my problem was the actuator, cheap and relatively simple to install |
