Climate Control Problems

I own a 1995 Mustang, it has the 3.8L V6 and it is a manual. When I turn the knob the selects the vent which the air/heat comes out of, it always come out of the defrost vent, directly below the windshield, no matter which vent I choose. What could be my problem and how could I fix it? Thank you.

blend door actuator or vacuum leak

Thanks, that helped a lot.

I had the same problem and it was a broken vac line on the vacuum tree in the engine compartment on the drivers side near the firewall. It was literally a two dollar fix to buy a new rubber fitting from autozone.

So I finally got around to fixing it, and it was just a small vacuum hose that was rotten. Now all of the Climate Control settings work, and the heating works, however the air that comes out when the setting is on cold is just the same temperature as the outside air. My step dad thinks that it has something to do with the compressor. Anyone have any suggestions?

Your refrigerant could be low.

On Aprils 96' it was a loose vacuum line.

Well, the piece in the very front of the compressor never moves, no matter what I do to it, unless I physically turn it.

Compressors aren't cheap. Hope its the coolant.
