Cut the springs on my Cobra, works completely fine. On my Cobra I did not have to remove the struts like Ryan did in the write up, there is more than enough room to remove the spring even with the struts in. Just remember that the drivers side has more weight than the passenger side. now while your car may be different, I had to cut 3/4 of a coil off the drivers side and 1 full coil on the passenger side to get a 1 1/4" drop on both sides. I only did the fronts as the rear of my Cobra was already lowered when they did the solid rear axel swap.

That's why I can't go any lower I like how the car handles, but I already drag the speed bumps

In short, don't lower the car more than 1 1/2" on stock casters, 2" max cause you'll need adjustable caster cambers. Also remember the height you cut out the springs (like I cut mine from 14" to 13") is the amount of drop you'll get. It settled to 1 1/4" drop so I cut out approx 1" and got 1 1/4" drop on the driver side, passenger side I had to cut an extra 1/4 of a coil or 1/2" to get both sides even.

Just remember, you can always cut more! I pulled mine out twice to get it to sit perfect... I'm sitting at like 26.25" on all 4's...

You guys are very helpful, thank you!! I may try getting the job done today, but it may have to wait till next week. I'll try getting some pictures before and after.

If you are on stock dampers with no intentions of changing them, don't go too crazy with the cuttin. Maybe just a coil...

Turns out this is a much harder project than I was expecting. The guide on here was helpful, but wasn't fully accurate on some things (different year models I guess). Thankfully, the gaps were filled in by the American Muscle tech article on installing H R springs.

Anyway, I only got the FRONT springs cut so far, I ran out of hours in the day and haven't had time to try the rears.

Can anyone prepare me for what is in stock for removing and putting back the rear springs? The guides and How To's make it look easier than the front.

Here are a couple photos of the fronts. This is with approximately 3/4 of a coil missing. I believe they have settled the past couple days to sit a little lower. Will get better pics on a clear day (and hopefully of the rear springs complete).

Need some bette pics, hardly looks lowered to me. The rear's are easier than the fronts, shouldn't be any surprises.

It does look better, just make sure you get an alignment though.

They will settle a little over night, but over the course of a week you'll notice them slowly dropping more.
