I'd start there. You can always cut more if it's not low enough for you. The V6 weight and spring rating is different, so it won't be exactly like the Cobra.

I actually don't want it to be too low though, just about 1" or so but not more than 1.5" (also because I want to keep it in range of the stock Caster plates) but also want to utilize the stock struts for now, maybe pick up some Foxbody struts

So what I'm concerned with is cutting 3/4 off a coil, is it going to drop me 1.5" or more?

*and good to hear from you again LilRoush lol. Like the sig

3/4 is a good starting point. It will be close without going over.

The other question I have is how I should put the end of the coil back into the spring perch, since it'll be cut. Should I be "twisting" it so that the end of the pigtail sits exactly like where the original spring sat in the perch? Or should the spring be positioned the same as it was before it was cut? (Meaning that the end of the pigtail will be about 45 degrees back since I'm cutting 3/4's off the coil?)

well look, i made the huuge mistake of cutting 2 3/4 in the back. it was the guys fault, i know you dont plan on cutting that much but just letting you know, my car is a BOUNCE HOUSE lol..

and when you put it back make sure to keep both ends the same, so that one side of the car wont be higher than the other.

dont be scared when your pushing down to take off the spring. use the end of the tire iron and have someone pulling the spring. the same person who is using the tire iron have him push down with his leg. try to keep the caliper held up when you take it off just in case, you dont want to break your brake line either.

cut the front springs at the same time so you make sure they are the same exact height, and same with the back.

Well I was planning to cut 3/4 of a coil just off the front springs, because the back looks ok. As it sits stock the front end actually appears higher because of the wheel gap. As far as handling goes I wouldn't think that would present a problem

I had a Cobra and I had to cut an entire coil off to drop the car 1 1/2" so that article isn't entirely spot on.

Default CUTTING SPRINGS

I AM LOOKING TO DO THE SAME. WHICH END OF THE SPRING SHOULD I CUT. ANY PICS OF CUTTING SPRING. DOES THE POSITION OF SPRING MATTER. WHEN I DID MY TRUCK I CUT A FULL RING SO THE ENDS WOULD MATCH AS FACTORY.

i have a 01 gt stock-

question for anybody with a vert who cut thier springs- how much did you cut and how much of a drop you get, i figured convertibles are heavier and might have a differnt spring rate. so lets give some verts some love.
