I have the steeda kit, but they're the same. I didn't use the firewall adjuster, I went with the adjustable cable.

Thanks Ryan. My thing is that the steeda unit looks more reliable than the mm unit.

Here is what I have to say about getting an aftermarket quadrant.

DONT GET IT!

Unless you have a clutch you have to stand on I wouldnt bother doing this mod.
The stock plastic quadrant is a very solid unit.

Now for my own personal experiance.

I had/have the UPR 3 claw quadrant with the adjustable cable and firewall adjuster (Not the locking one.)

I am on my THIRD clutch cable, the quadrant kept cutting the cable including the heavy duty cable.

Now as long as you do NOT put the cable on the furthest claw you will not cut your cable but if you put it on the furthest then the middle claw will cut the cable.

UPR did not design this quadrant very well, or at least the one I bought which was about 6 years ago.

After going through the HD cable and then the stock V6 cable I stole the one from Aprils 97' Cobra and it has worked ever since (On here 96')

The reason why the 97' Cobra cable worked is because it is shorter than the V6 and HD adjustable cable. Being shorther it only fit on the middle and last claw, I put it on the middle claw and havnt cut it yet.

So if you have a 96-04 UPR quadrant then you should use the 96-98 Cobra cable to avoid from cutting the cable.

A note for UPR's firewall adjuster, it sucks and backs off too damn easily.

Another note: If your trying to keep weight down then a firewall adjuster and quadrant are not the mod for you as it is heavier than stock.

IMO The money is better spent elsewhere.

Well I have a spec stage 2 clutch that has had the TOB replaced 2x and the stock quadrant has a little vibration to it. Thus the reason I am replacing the stock plastic unit.

And I will not be using UPR lol. You just added to the reasons that I prefer not to buy from them lol.

Do you mean the quadrant vibrates or creaks when you depress it or does it sit there and rattle?

It shouldnt vibrate when not depressed, if it does then you have something loose.

If it does it when you depress it then you more than likely have an issue with your clutch cable catching inside the sheathing.

I had that issue with the stock V6 clutch cable before it got cut, it was an existing problem before I changed the quadrant and it stopped when I went to the HD, came back with I swapped back to the V6 and went away when I went to the Cobra cable.

A Spec Stage 2 is an easy clutch to engage and wont tax your quadrant.

I have had a stage 3 a couple times and the one that did work wasnt an issue either with my stock quadrant and clutch cable.

For the cost that your spending on a quardrant you could just buy a used Mach 1 manual pedal assy with dead pedal and fix anything that was worn or loose on your old assy and you get kickass pedals.

It has a slight rattle while in the lower rpms (enough to tick me off). The spec stage 2 is an easy clutch to engage just can't get the quadrant to adjust so the clutch engages a little faster.

I thought that pedal assy cost a bit more than what a quadrant and firewall adjuster would?

Not that I'm not interested in swapping in a v8 pedal assy (I plan on doing a hydro-boost setup in the very near future) but I doubt that my gf is willing to buy a pedal assy for the holidays lol.
