1999 3.6L V-6 shifting issue
Hello everybody, I'm new here, and have had my Mustang for about two years now. I use top of the line products in oil changes platinum plugs with quad spark. I am not really used to the automatic transmission though but I need it due to my handicap. My issue is that as I'm accelerating either smooth and gently or quickly, my first gear sticks until just over twenty miles per hour, and at 3,500 rpm, where it used kto shift at 13mph and under 2,700rpm. I have checked the transmission fluid and it is full, and looks rather clean, but I'm still not sure about it since I've never had an issue with any transmission. Could anybody please help me or shoot me some ideas. I'm starting to think it is the transmission filter but all the fluid I can see looks very clean.

I'm thinking its the ecu because its not telling the trans to shift correctly, I would take it to dealer and see if they could reprogram it or maybe someone can use a tune to set the parameters for it to shift. It could also be something mechanical, but I would hope its just something as simple as a reprogram.

You might want to stop by AutoZone and run a scanner on it to see if there are any saved codes.
There are many variables that could cause your AODE to act up like that.
Has the car ever had a tuner on it?
