Depends on what you have for rotors, if you use cheaper ones then I agree it is quicker, easier, and not much more expensive. But if you have some the $80+ rotors that are out there, it makes much more sense to turn them.

Well I bought these:

Is this a pretty easy job? My bf said he can do it no problem.

Alright so I'm back. Boyfriend put the front brakes and rotors on. Look how tore up the old ones were.

---

My question is, are the back rotors the same as the front? I'm asking because the auction I bought was for 2 front rotors and 4 brake pads, but they sent me 4 rotors and 4 brake pads.. so can I use the extra two for the back or is it a different style?

Pads were good still, rotors just needed to be turned it looks like.

If they havnt ever been turned before just hang on to them till you see how the new rotors do.

Well if they sent you two rears as well then they will be a solid disk, no venting like the fronts have.

Eh they were way past the point of turning. And I didnt want to put the old brake pads back on new rotors since they were all grooved up from the old rotors. The car made some awful noises coming from there and now I have silence (so happy).

They sent me all 4 the same. They all look exactly alike. On ebay some of the auctions have the venting and some dont http://shop.ebay.com/i.html?rt=nc&LH...=p3286.c0.m301 so not sure what the difference is and if I can use the other 2 they sent me for the back or do I need to get 2 specifically for the back.

No, I didnt mean use the pads on the new rotors.
If they are beyond turning then scrap em.

Check the brand of the pads though, many pads have a lifetime warranty and you can turn them in for new ones.

Also, if all four are the same then your SOL, you cant use fronts on the rear.
Just throw them up for sale or something.

Yeah pads seem to have some life left but do not seem to be wearing evenly on the rotor.
