Manual Transmission Shift Points

Manual Transmission Shift Points
Hey folks,
I've got a 2002 5 speed. I still consider myself a newbie on manuals. At what rpm do you all shift for regular street driving? Is there a point that maximizes fuel efficiency? Also, is there a rpm that I should not go below while cruising? My wife's ricer is so radically different in feel and performance (and alot easier to feel) from the Mustang that I am having difficulty finding just what this thing can do. I don't enjoy public humiliation and so don't want to kill it somewhere important. =). If this is not the correct forum for these kind of questions I apologize. Please feel free to move/delete if necessary. Thanks!

I shift by "feel" and "sound".
In my 2011 Camry, I shift around 2500-3000 rpms
In my 95 Mustang, I shift around 1500-2000 rpms
The difference is if I'm trying to maximize fuel economy or if I'm trying to floor it and get going as fast as I can. Also, in the Mustang, I know that if I'm cruising under 1300 RPMs she tends to want to "bog out", so I'll downshift or pick up speed.
Personally, I find it 100x easier to "feel" the shifts in the Mustang than in the Camry, but that's just me. My husband much prefers the 'stang as well...
