Seat belt sensor

Hey guys what do i need to remove to get the stupid seat belt sensor thing to quit beeping?

NeoTokyo 06-14-2011 10:38 AM

You get to dance with your car a little bit on this one.

Step 1: Turn ignition switch to ON. All the way forward without cranking the engine.

Step 2: Wait for the seatbelt alarm to go off and stop. About 1-2 min.

*Steps 3-5 must be completed within 60 seconds or the process with have to be repeated.

Step 3: Buckle and unbuckle the seat belt three times, ending with the belt unbuckled.

Step 4: Turn the headlights on then off.

Step 5: Buckle then unbuckle the belt three times ending with it unbuckled.

*After step 5 the safety light will be turned on for about three seconds then go off.

Step 6: Within seven seconds of the seat belt light going off buckle then unbuckle the belt again.

That should disable the safety alarm. You will see the seat belt light blink a few times to confirm it has been done successfully.

Good Luck. :)

Why not just wear your seatbelt? Seems to be a simple solution.

Its just annoying having it go off when im just like sittin somewhere and talkin to people, or pull up to talk to someone and take it off then it starts goin off

NeoTokyo 06-15-2011 03:23 AM

Same here.

I wear mine ALWAYS no matter what, always have but if I am sitting somewhere running or working on the car and need it on then it starts to ding.

It doesnt bother me enough to remove the chime but I can see how some might want that.

yeah but i wont do this for a little while lol, im too lazy to go through all that trouble haha

Fink 06-15-2011 09:39 AM

It will literally take you 3 minutes to do.

I think in my 06 FX4, I had to buckle and unbuckle the seatbelt 10 times... for each side.

NeoTokyo 06-15-2011 10:20 AM

Fink have you noticed that the truck is SOOO MUCH MORE ANNOYING with it than your Mustang?

I know my FX4 would start in about 10 seconds and was loud as hell and just had a pissed off tone to it! lol

It was the worst when playing around with the tune on the truck, the Diablo already takes like 3 days to program the damn thing and you just had to sit there doing what it tells you to do. x_x

The Mustang isnt so bad about that when tuning, heh.

well why we're talking about dumb sensors, what do you take out or do to get the stupid ass door sensor to go off, like when it dings when keys in ignition and door is open
