Default What do you think about this exhaust system?

Hey guys. I finally have some money and want to do my first performance mod on my 04 V6. I have been a frequent visitor to this site for over a year but I rarely post.

For the catback I was thinking Flowmaster American Thunder:

http://www.americanmuscle.com/flowma...ck-9904gt.html

And for the midpipe I was looking at stangmods.com and was leaning towards this since I will not upgrade my headers for a little while:

http://www.stangmods.com/MAC-H-Pipe-p/00425.htm

So what do you all think? AM has a good 4th of July weekend sale on the catback so I would like to act soon.

Thanks in advance for any input.

Shouldnt sound too bad at all man, but exhaust is all about personal preference really, its what you like, i personally like slp loudmouths, they are pretty loud and mean sounding in my opinion

Allow me to ask the obvious, but you do realize that the off-road pipe deletes the catalytic converters, right? Those come in handy in certain states in order to pass DMV inspection. Just sayin', in case you didn't know.

Like 28 said you wont be able to pass smog as you will have no cats with that set up. Do you live in a state that requires yearly (or every other year) smog checks? If so that is a no go. I prefer "true duels" myself and it was cheaper that buying some kit online.

Thanks for the input guys. To be honest 28, I didn't take that into consideration. In my current state it would be ok, but I might be moving very soon to a state that would require yearly checks.

I guess it is back to the drawing boards.

If you wanted to do it this way you could get what you are looking at, but keep your stock pipes as well, and before you go in for a smog check just swap them out, it could be slightly time consuming, but it would be worth it if your car could sound great all year round!

Thanks for the help guys. Like an idiot I never stopped to think what the "off road" meant.

I was originally deciding between doing the kit you saw above, or a true duel setup. I assumed (once again like an idiot) that the true duel setup would be more expensive. It appears I was wrong. I called a shop today and am waiting on an estimate. I'll let you guys know how that goes; as I will probably have more questions for you all!
