Default A/C Electrical Issue

I am not able to get the a/c clutch to engage in my 96 V6 Mustang. Here is what I have done so far: Replaced the compressor, orfice, dryer and both hoses. (The system holds freon and I know thats not the problem). The low and high pressure switches have been jumped and eliminated as the problem. The CCRM has also been eliminated. Now for the wiring this is what i have been able to trace so far: The BLK/YEL wire going to the compresser is not hot (but when jumped the compresser will engage). The DG/O wire is hot at the CCRM and ECM. The grounds have been checked and jumped and are also not the problem. The only problem that I have found is the PNK/YEL wire going from the ECM to the CCRM is NOT hot. When this wire is jumped the compresser will engage which leads me to belive that it is the problem. My understanding is that this wire is for the wide open throttle safety. Has anyone else had a similuar problem? Is it the ECM or a sensor for the WOT? What is the next step to trace this issue? Any help is greatly appreciated!

I have the Electrical Troubleshooting manual for my girly's '98 V6, and according to its electrical diagram it looks like your CCRM is bad. You've verified that the DG/O wire is supplying it with power and that the compressor works when you supplied it with power. The CCRM is what gives the A/C Clutch Coil power via the black & yellow wire and ground via the black wire coming out of the CCRM. If the A/C Clutch Coil isn't getting power & ground then the compressor won't start up. Hope that helps...

The pink and yellow wire between the ccrm and ecm needs to be hot for the relay to open in the ccrm which would make the black and yellow wire hot. I need to know why the ecm is not making the pink and yellow wire hot? The pk/y wire has to do with the wide open throttle saftey but i'm not sure what sensors it uses etc...

I think you have it backwards. According to the circuit diagram the ECM is the ground for the pink & yellow wire. The CCRM provides the power through a transistor in the CCRM (not a relay). You've already proven that the ECM is providing that ground when you manually applied power to the pink & yellow wire which resulted in the compressor kicking on. You've also verified that power is getting to the CCRM via the Dark Green & Orange wire, so the problem is the power is not coming out of the CCRM, indicating you have a bad CCRM.

Good luck...
