Sorry to hear it man. I had the EXACT same thing happen to me in my 96 GT. They take the whole thing because its much quicker and easier than digging out the change. I found one at a local junkyard and paid $5 for that and a radiator drain plug. Mine was in the trunk of a '95 under a bunch of crap. I know atleast 94-98 will work.

As far as the dual cup holder... I looked into it and I found that if you put a drink in it, it gets in the way of shifting much more than the slide out one. Its handy for other things if you dont use it for a drink, but then you wont have the slide out one. Since you have an auto it may be a non-issue, just check out a stang that has it first i guess.

I smoke and do NOT use it as an ashtray, but the big hole is an eyesore.

1998 is the one that you would be looking for, the ash tray was smoked that year.

Yes, I hate the pull out cupholder with a passion!
I dont know how many times I have almost broken it off or spilt something there.

I have an 01' Charcoal Console that you can have for $75 shipped but the color will be off from black but it will fit.

Looks like they're much cheaper, lol. The catalog I was looking at was an older one....

I have no purpose for a switch panel.

My lower interior is red; no thread to reference for painting needed...look at my attached pics. I already dyed/painted my upper interior.

You could always add machine guns, oil slick, and rockets for those switches.
