Default 2001 mustang heat problems

we have a 2001 mustang when we turn the heat on only cold air comes out, my daughter did say that sometimes the air gets hot but not for long, then its back to cold.. need help

Your heater core might be clogged up or there's something restricting the flow of coolant to it.

^^ This. Check the coolant hoses going into and out of the heater core.... make sure it's getting circulatioin to it. Could be as simple as an airbubble stuck blocking it.

And check the coolant lvl. A low lvl will cause the heater to not work.
