Hood Scoop on 2002 Mustang
Hey everyone,
Pretty new here. I've got a question about attaching a hood scoop to a 2002 Mustang. I bought it from a friend who bought it from AM. Since I bought it from him and he had already used it, I don't have any tape to use on the scoop. Any thoughts on how I could attach the scoop to the hood? I've been searching all over the web for a small amount of 3M Automotive tape in the 3/8" size.
Here where the scoop was purchased from:

Thanks for any help.

Just go to Home Depot or Lowes and buy some 3M double sided tape, its the exact same thing. Now with that said is it the best....no....the hood scoop takes in a lot of air resistance so if you can find something with higher tack then get that instead.
You need to use alcohol to clean the hood, clean it 2 or 3 times over to make sure all the dirt is off the area of the install. DO NOT USE WATER!!! Rubbing alcohol only!!!! Once it's clean clean the back side of the scoop the same way. Then apply the tape. To make sure it sticks use a blow drier on the scoop after the tape is on to make it tackier. Then carefully fit and press it onto the hood. You can use the blow drier to go around the edges as you apply pressure to make the tape soften up and stick better.

Thank you both.
Daehawk- I prefer not to drill through my hood in case I wanted to remove it later down the road, plus I'm not that mechanically advanced lol
jthorn9- Thank you, I think I may just buy some tape off eBay, however the sizes are different than what comes with the scoop when bought from AM. For example, from AM it comes with 3/8 inch tape. I'm hoping to make it work with 1/2 inch or so tape. I hope. I will use the rubbing alcohol though, that's a great idea.
