Default Reasonable Price for Gear Installation?

Hey guys. I'm going to start calling some shops in my area this weekend to see what they will charge me for installing some FRPP 3.73 gears. I was planning on buying the FRPP 3.73 kit with the T-Lok from stangmods.com (claims it is everything you need).

So my question is, if that really is everything I will need (other than oil/fluids/etc.) what would be a reasonable cost of labor to have them installed? I am in the Northeast so I have noticed we are a little more expensive than a lot of other forum member's areas.

And finally, if they give me an hourly rate, how long does this job normally take?

Thanks guys.

I am in the same boat..i have heard 50-60 per hour and quoted roughly 4 hours
all the shops around here told me to also count on a master bearing kit as well...that is roughly 75.00 or so. American muscle sells them.

Hope that helps

That does help, thanks a lot. That is actually the price I was "guestimating"...I'll go look into that master bearing kit as well. Thanks again.

Whoops just realized the kit on stangmods has the master bearing kit included in it. Sweet, don't have to dish out an additional $75 on top of the cost of the kit and the labor.

I'm in the same boat. I have everything (except for the LSD which is coming in soon) and now I'm on the hunt for a reliable/fairly priced shop to install.

It depends. If its strickly the gears then it's (ballpark) 300-375. If your doing the whole rear (new internals,Tlok) end plus gears (ballpark) 400-500. All depends on the shop and location you live in.

I called a bunch of shops and almost all of them said they don't do gears. I found a shop that normally does just Jeeps and they said they would do the gears, T-Lok, and bearings for $350 + cost of fluids (obviously not counting the product cost). This seems reasonable.

I have the kit in the shopping cart on StangMods.com and am just waiting on them to answer my email requesting their discount code.
