Would even a mild Cam require "everything" to be replaced ?

I want to thank everybody who has shared their opinion. This is a goldmine of info for me, since I'm not much of an engine expert. You guys have answered some very important questions. No doubt this will help spared me some $$ and headaches too. Thanks.

Well to maxamize your sound and power gained, long tube headers are the way to go.

Shorty headers will work fine, just do go buy the 300 aftermarket ones. Stock 99+ manifolds or 98- shorties will work fine. Your biggest concern is going to be the mid pipe. Stock 4 cats keep a cam quiet ... very quiet ... I cant get on youtube at work but if you look me up "mikewellzss" and find the video thats named somthing like "Cammed V6 Mustang X pipe .2" you'll hear what a Decent cam w/ all 4 cats, stock manifolds, X pipe, dual flowmaster 40s sounds like. Quiet ...

High flow cats or no cats is the way to go. Most of the Cammed V6 mustang video's you'll find on youtube are all the same cam 218/226 .5 108. Popular spec that sounds great. Same cam I was using in that video, but not now, I have a custom cam now

ANY CAM requires everything to be replaced. It doesn't matter which one you choose the process remains the same.

K well on that note im running stock rockers, exhaust push rods, lifters, timing chain. Only my intake push rods were replaced due to length needed.
Springs/Retainers were replaced to support cam specs.

While it's OK to run stock rods, lifters, rockers, etc...it's generally not recommended due to the wear characteristics of the pieces.

High flows are the way to go, loud and v6 don't usually go together, plus you can still pass most sniff tests

Wow that is quiet. I'm gonna need some high flows for sure . Hey I want to share what I have planned for my overall exhaust setup; tell me what you think, as far the sound and performance I'll get out of it:
Gt take-off exhaust
3 inch exhaust tips
2 flow master 40s
No x or h pipe: pipes running straight
Cam/supporting parts with the following specs:
Duration 212/218
Lift .55/.55
Rockers 1.7
LSA 110

Ok never mind the straight pipes, since i need the cats for the sniff test. . . catted (high flow ) h pipe to go w/ my setup.
