I agree with EDGT96. I did mine with the side parking lights... looks awesome as dusk... No wiring harness, no switches, no hassle.....

I installed some LED fogs to mine and wired them to the factory switch so its not bad at all I can use them by themselves, with the low-beams, and the high beams. I don't used them anymore I slipped into ditch and damn near pulled the driver side fog out. It still works but the support frame on the bumper is destroyed. Everywhere I drive the light is constantly bouncing around...

I will probably wire them into the factory switch. I like being able to turn them on and off as I see fit. I wanted to know it anyone ever had issues with trying to wire them in. I am starting to do my bits and pieces to my car so that I can get it to how I like it. I appreciate all the input guys!

Ive got to fix mine. The driver's side bezel has split in half and the light is just hanging in theew by the spring. it must be touching something because now neither one of them work.

I was planning on installing fog lights on my 2000 V6 this week. This is the guide plan on using for the install and you may find it helpful. (There is a word for word same tutorial on here but whoever copied and pasted it left out the watermarked pictures.)

I dont see why you would spend like $200 for parts, when you can do the mod for free almost by wiring into the headlights. Ive had mine wired like that for 4 years now with no problem. Yes I cant turn them on by themselves but I also used the $200 I saved to buy more toys.

That is always an option for anyone, but I would rather play it safe. I prefer the idea of having that addition seperated from the already taxing supply demand of the headlights. I did electrical work for 4 years so I have seen the negative side. Granted that it doesn't happen to all, but it still does happen. The factory set up for the headlights is fused and relay to manf. specs for what should be used. If you go and add additional items on there that exceeds what they recommend, you might be fortunate and not have any problems, might just get a burnt plug or relay....then there can always be that one...which I prefer not to be me. Again, not always the case, but I still prefer to spend the extra little bit, then shortcut my way around and cause more possible issues. Not knocking anyones decision, just stating my preference.

I have the same kit. I had someone install them for me because I can't lay on the ground (I have a bad knee) and the hardest time my buddy had was getting the lights installed on the front end. Once that was done, everything else was easy peazy.

Agreed ^ - I had to tape my lock washer and nut together simply to get them started. Not the best design Ford.
