Exclamation Stereo Wiring problem..

I'm installing a new head unit(JVC KD-R538) into my 1999 Mustang Convertible Base.. All wires are connected but the Orange Illumination wire.. when I turn on the car the speakers don't play the music. The radio turns on, but still no sound.. Can anyone help me figure out what i'm doing wrong and fix the problem? Thanks in advance.

So what type of factory unit did you have prior? If it was a Mach system, then you have to work around the factory amp system. You can either purchase the harness that is designed for it, or you can take the replace all speakers route and then sell the mach system for some change. Did you use a factory harness adapter for the jvc?
