Default 94 mustang 3.8 v6 new engine need help

hi everyone new to the forums here was hoping i could get some help here as im at a stand still.....here is the situation....recently rebuilt the motor in my 1994 ford mustang 3.8 v6 dropped the engine back in it brand new battery tested for a 100 percent charge and almost 13 volts tested starter 6 times no overheating passed every time. im just trying to get this car to turn over right now to build oil pressure so theres no spark plugs currently in it. the wierd thing is that the other day i hooked up the new battery and all the gauges were working properly reading only 8 volts though so i charged the battery and now i hook up the battery and i get nothing but a SES light on and the battery light on wont try and turn over no headlights, nothing. ive been told it was a ground wire issue but i cant seem to find it i hooked up the only ground wire i disconnected as i did not pull this motor i bought the car with it already out. now im just stumped and cant think of anything. any and all help is greatly appreciated.

The ground wire should be bolted to the body by the battery, if that's not attached, headlights won't work, that's a HUGE sign. I know my old 94 used to get corrosion on the ground, clean up the mounting bolt and go from there.

Thanks for the tip I found that ground wire it wasn't hooked up lol so I figured that out now ive replaced both positive and negative wires and ignition wire and bypassed the fusable link in the ignition wire it cranked over but when tightening the battery cables I arked the ratchet on the positive post while tightening the negative and now I've got nothing again maybe bad ignition switch or disconnect battery and try again? I'll update later and let everyone know how it goes
