99 Mustang stalls when warm ???
So I got this 99 Mustang V6 stick shift, Its got 82 K miles. I bought this car a while ago with a bad fuel pump, I put a new AC Delco pump, ran awesome for like 3 months, then one day I was driving and I felt loss of power, two minutes later hesitations then back fire at the intake, when I hit the gas more it gets worse then it stalls. I leave it for a couple minutes and come back turn it on, it will run fine for a couple miles then stalls again. I replaced the pump again thinking it stops when the car is warm but the same thing happens again. tank is clean and I replaced the fuel filter too. any ideas ?

air intake? uhm maybe exhaust gases arent flowing correctly? catalytic converters? maybe a defect in the electronic fuel injection? you should take it somewhere where they can take a look. get a diagnostic and make sure it does it for the person doing the diagnostic. ive never heard of this happening in a car sorry... maybe someone else can help.

Bringing up a older thread sorry. I got a 99 today v-6 and it runs great but drive it for a hour and it cuts off. starts surging then backfiring loosing power untill it dies. Starts right back up. Let it set 20 to 30 min and go again for a hour or so then it does it all over again. I am thinking egr or cats anyone know of a fix for this?
