I have a 2001 mustang that i just bought and did a oil change with motorcraft 5-30 and motorcraft filter and stp oil treatment and it still will get this ticking noise at start up for about 1 minute or 2 and goes away and is fine after that even when i accelerate.only at cold start up sometimes warm .im not sure if it is a lifter or what but i need some advise.thank you

I had the exact same thing and mine was a cracked/broken driver's side exhaust manifold. My mechanic removed it, welded it, put it back on with a new gasket and it's been perfect ever since.
