Question Hey i'm new and having car trouble?

I'll describe as best as possible. 2001 mustang, When I hit the brakes their is a sound like: click clack click click. The sound is also there even when I turn off the car and press the brakes a few times until they lock. According to the guy that did my oil change " It might be the struts or the shocks". The sound is their all the time when stopping, it's not a squealing or screeching sound because my brakes are still ok.
I hope that helps if not I will clarify further. I just don't want to get ripped off or overpay for something that I could probably do myself by learning and reading.

When you say turn off the car and press the brakes are you saying turn off the car while moving or sitting still?

If moving does it only happen at brake application or as soon as you lift off the gas?

One other thing what transmission?

When I turn off the car, as in the key is out of the ignition, also when the key is in the ignition and the car is sitting still and or i'm coming to a stop.

Happens at brake application.

It's a v6 automatic 3.8 Ford mustang

Try to get someone to help you...maybe have them step on the brake while you figure out where the sound is coming from exactly.
