retrofit an '03 GT exhaust onto a V6?

Hi - new guy here! looking to go dual-exhaust on the 2000 3.8L - obviously I'd want to have the muffler shop cut right after the cats - but is it cheaper to retrofit an '03 GT dual exhaust versus getting a custom dual exhaust?

I can get a used GT exhaust for $50

I think a dual setup would run $250+ at the local muffler shop

I have an '02 and it used to have dual exhaust. Someone then cut it and sent it all over to the right side. This is something eventually I'll be changing too.

You can use the GT duals if you A) get the v6 conversion h-pipe or B) have someone fab up a h-pipe to match the GT duals. You cant use the GT h-pipe as is, because it wont line up to your exhaust manifolds.

ok that's what I thought - is it a good guideline to use '99-04 parts to swap or can you use older stuff too

i.e. 94-98 as well?

I think the 99-04 gt had bigger diameter exhaust than the 94-98 but im not sure.
